Zoom in on the Profile Unity RTA Atomiser by Wotofo
Following the renewed interest with manufacturers of mesh, Wotofo have created their 2nd Atomiser using a technique: replace the coils with a mesh sheet. First a dripper version, the Profile RDA, now here is the Profile Unity RTA, which is an RTA version with a reservoir which has a capacity of 5ml for e liquid. The Profile Unity is a collaboration with Wotofo, reviewers MrJustRight1 and The Vapor Chronicles

Reminder, the mesh is a metallic sheet, pierced with a multitude of holes. The sheet is a resistive which is very well known, on the Profile Unity RTA you will find a sheet in Kanthal A1. This small sheet in mesh has the particularity to heat very quickly. Being all flat, the heat spreads very quickly on a larger surface than a classic coil. The result is a powerful heat and increased production of vapor. The mesh delivered with the Profile unity has a value of 0.13Ω (around), which is low and has an effective heat.

With other atomisers which use mesh sheets do already exist but Wotofo have tried an advanced idea by ameliorating the nourishment of mesh in e liquid. So, for the vape is perfect, the mesh sheet is permanently soaked with e liquid. Otherwise it is dry.

Under the frame, the white ceramic which is on spring
So, Wotofo have created a ceramic support, on a spring which pushes cotton fiber to the mesh. The fiber always remains in contact with the mesh and voila! You will see the theory joins practicality. In any case the idea is interesting.

The Profile Unity RTA is a volumed atomiser of 25mm in diameter. It is delivered with 2 reservoirs (all with detached pieces and accessories) which allows you to pass from 3.5ml to 5ml. It is therefore large and strong with an enormous drip in coloured resin. The tip is thick, to diminish the heating sensation.

You also have the filling from the top via the unscrewable top cap with 2 x 5 openings, settings with a ring on the side of the tank. Voila, for the presentation of the Profile Unity RTA, pass over to the heart of the atomiser: the assembly plate.

First Step of installing the Mesh
You can observe on this plate particularly on the left and the right, 2 small vices which will place the extremities of the mesh with 2 screws. In the middle, the ceramic support is what assures the humidity of the large mesh which is installed.
.jpg)
With the plate, 2 mesh sheets are supplied, 0,13Ω made by OFRF (creators of Gear RTA). There are 2 « laces » of cotton, 6mm in diameter. This is the cotton fiber which must be installed. You can also use your own cotton, but as you will see, the cottoning of the Profile Unity is complex and needs quite a bit of work.

Becareful, the installation is delicate to install from the start
A Wotofo frame and screwdriver is delivered with the atomiser. These tools allow you to install the mesh sheet. Even when you follow the utilisation notice, the installation demands patience and precision. Centering the sheet is not so simple as it appears, and you need to familiarize yourself with this installation at the beginning.
.jpg)
Once the mesh is installed, it is observed by effectuating a light burn of the mesh as it reacts to a quarter turn. The heating is spread over the whole surface of the sheet in the blink of an eye. You will understand the importance of having a cotton soaked with e liquid.
.jpg)
Installing the lace of the cotton is not difficult, if the sheet is placed correctly. Cutting the mesh is more delicate.

Sorry, it's a little bit dark!
To have a mesh with a good dimension, you must understand how the Profile Unity functions. The airflows are placed on the side of the mesh. For the liquid, 2 holes are in front of the cotton mesh.
.jpg)
So, the cotton is always soaked and to avoid any leaking of e liquid, you must divide the cotton towards the bottom, but also at the top. A little bit like cats ears. Also, the dosage of the cotton is complicated because you must be able to close the tank after. It is sometimes necessary to cut a little bit of the cotton so that the tank covers correctly the assembly plate. And, of course so you can close the tank correctly.
.jpg)
I had to try this quite a few times before having an Atom which does not leak. The dosage of the cotton is primordial and delicate.
.jpg)
The mesh sheet by OFRF is quite surprising, reactive, no parasitic taste and is efficient in flavour, respecting the range of output power from 60 to 70 Watts which can appear quite low for the 0.13Ω. Yes, but above 70 Watts the heat is to intense. A real barbecue is found in this ato. The dosage of the cotton must be impeccable, and the fiber must be aired so the liquid can circulate perfectly.
.jpg)
The finish, we still have a vape which is very tasty with certain e liquids, especially with fruity e liquids in my opinion. Needless, to say the vapor is present even if we want more cloudiness. There is a beautiful flow of flavours in the mouth with surprising aromas.
.jpg)
To be precise, after all this, the Profile Unity is not indicated for beginners. The alternative of mesh instead of a traditional coil is interesting because the mesh holds much longer. There is no need to have a high output power for it to function, it should hold for a good moment and it recognizes quite a few tank fillers.
.jpg)
All is mastered with the right dosage of cotton on this very particular plate. The Profile Unity is designed for fans of reconstructable material who are usually familiar with these types of assemblies and have certain knowledge with the leaking of e liquids. This means, good experience with the cotton. This is a demanding atomiser in preparation but a rendering which will hold. The mesh sheet is stable, but if you like varied watts, then you should go the other way.
