Our products are reserved for adults aged 18 and older. To reliably ensure this, we have decided to integrate Yoti, a recognised digital identity verification solution. This is a voluntary initiative undertaken by Le Petit Vapoteur.

An unprecedented initiative in the vaping sector

Regulations still permit self-declaration mechanisms (a simple checkbox or entering a date of birth). Le Petit Vapoteur has chosen to go much further by relying on real biometric verification via Yoti. This approach aims to guarantee that our products are only accessible to adults. This initiative is part of our long-standing commitment to responsible distribution. We believe that protecting minors should not be a legal constraint, but a de facto standard for all players in the sector.

Yoti age verification is requested only once, during your first order on our site. It takes place at the payment step and will not be requested again for your subsequent orders.

How does verification work ?

A process in less than a minute

1. Automatic start up at payment

During your first order, the Yoti procedure launches automatically before access to payment methods. It will not be requested again afterward.

2. Age estimation by facial scan

Yoti activates your camera and guides you to position your face within a frame. AI analyzes your face in real time to estimate your age; no photo is taken. No ID document is required for this method.

3. Confirmation and data deletion

Once your adult status is confirmed, Yoti explicitly notifies you of the immediate deletion of your data before redirecting you to your order. The result is saved to your account.

Alternative Methods

If the scan is not enough, other age verification methods are offered by Yoti.

Identity documents

National identity card, passport, driver's license, or residence permit. Yoti verifies the authenticity of the document, extracts only your date of birth, and then deletes the data.

Select the type of document you wish to use to verify your identity.

Once done, prepare your document to present it to the camera following the instructions.

Yoti App - certified digital identity

To verify your identity, you can also download the Yoti mobile application. Once the app is downloaded, you will be able to confirm your age by scanning a QR Code. Your Yoti ID is reusable across all partner sites.

What happens to your data?

Not transmitted to LPV We never receive your biometric data. Only the result (adult / minor) is communicated to us.	Immediately deleted Yoti notifies you on screen of the deletion of your data before any redirection. They are neither retained nor reused.
Encypted connection The entire procedure is secure, Yoti is GDPR compliant and operates under UK and European law.	Your GDPR rights Access, rectification, delation: exercise your rights directly with Yoti via their privacy policy at yoti.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is affected by this verification ?

Only new customers who create an account on our website. Verification is performed only once, during your first order. If you have already ordered on the Le Petit Vapoteur site, you are not affected.

Do I need to verify my age with every order ?

No. Verification is performed only once. Once your adult status is confirmed, this step is no longer necessary for your subsequent orders.

Is a photo of my face saved ?

No. Yoti explicitly confirms the deletion of your data on screen, even before redirecting you to the payment page. Le Petit Vapoteur never has access to your biometric data.

What happens if the facial scan does not work ?

You have 3 attempts. If these are exhausted, two other verification methods are automatically offered to you: verification by identity document (national identity card, passport, driver's license...) or via the Yoti ID application.

Does verification work from a phone ?

Yes, the procedure is optimised for mobile. However, you must have a smartphone with a camera. If you are placing an order from a computer, you can switch to your phone via a QR Code to complete the verification under better conditions.

Can I order if I do not wish to use my camera ?

Yes. If you prefer not to use the facial scan, alternatives are available: verification by identity document or via the Yoti ID application. You can also make your purchase in one of our physical stores located throughout France.
