The Vaporesso Target 200 Kit Review

Swag 2, Gen, Luxe… When it comes to kits, this isn't Vaporesso's first rodeo. This time, the Chinese manufacturer is back with the Target 200 combo, made up of the iTank clearomiser and the Target 200 box. Let's take a closer look.

The iTank Clearomiser

The iTank is a clearomiser with a 25mm diameter at its base, designed for direct-lung (DL) vaping. It's fitted exclusively with a bulb-shaped tank, which is, in my view, a bit of a shame, but it makes up for it with a generous 8ml capacity.

Contrary to what you might expect, its drip-tip isn't in the 810 format: it's a 510.

That said, its 11mm internal diameter does indeed allow for a genuinely airy vape. As for airflow, the iTank features 3 large cyclops-style vents at the base of the clearomiser.

This ring obviously allows you to partially close off the air vents to reduce the incoming airflow, but either way, the vape will remain airy. The iTank clearomiser is clearly built for powerful vaping!
As for filling, this is done from the top, with a small marker painted onto the top-tank to show you which way round it goes.

By pressing on the top-cap at this little arrow, you slide it across, revealing the fill port, which is kept perfectly sealed by a small rubber flap.

The system is reliable, neither too stiff nor too loose. No mishaps to report here. One of the iTank's big strengths is that this clearomiser comes apart completely, which is always welcome when it comes to giving your kit a really thorough clean, particularly when switching to a different juice. By turning the top-cap clockwise, you'll separate the top of the tank to access the heart of the filling system.

Then, by unscrewing the bottom ring, you can fully strip down the iTank.

Setting up the iTank couldn't be simpler: just pick one of the two included coils…

Just clip it firmly into place, and you're all set.

Being someone used to vaping on rebuildable atomisers, I'll happily admit that setting up the iTank is disarmingly easy. The rest is just as straightforward: fill the tank, wait around ten minutes – just long enough for the mesh fibre to soak through properly, which is important – and you're ready to vape! But before we get into how this iTank vapes, let's take a closer look at the box that comes with the kit.

The Target 200 Box

The Target 200 is a dual 18650 box that stands out in several ways. The first thing you'll notice is just how different it looks from the competition, with an absolutely distinctive yet striking look. The OLED screen takes up the entire front face of the box, and when switched off, it creates a beautiful mirror effect.

The body of the Target 200 is made from zinc alloy, which gives the box a real sense of quality and sturdiness.

But the real cosmetic highlight of this Target 200 is the woven fabric finish on the back of the box: it gives a really lovely feel in the hand.

Two things worth bearing in mind, though: while the manufacturer claims this fabric is waterproof, that doesn't mean you should go diving with your box. Well, you could, but entirely at your own risk. Personally, I wouldn't chance it. On top of that, it remains to be seen how this fabric will hold up over time, especially if you're using this Target 200 out and about.

As for me, mine stays safely at home, and I haven't noticed the slightest sign of wear after several weeks of use. And that's not for lack of handling this Target 200 regularly! Indeed, the shape of the box gives it impeccable ergonomics and optimal comfort in the hand, particularly for smaller hands.

Another thing that makes this Target 200 stand out is its raised 510 connector, almost as if it's putting your favourite atomiser on a pedestal.

You'll either love it or hate it, but either way, you'll be able to screw on atomisers up to 25mm in diameter, which fits neatly with the box's overall size. Indeed, this Target 200 is ultra-compact! To get a sense of just how compact, you only need to see the beast once it's loaded up with 2 18650 batteries.

The battery door itself is well made, with a latching mechanism machined directly into the box's zinc alloy body.

While locking and unlocking the empty battery compartment might leave you fearing the worst, once the batteries are in, nothing budges at all: the batteries press against the door, which as a result stays perfectly in place.

From a cosmetic point of view, then, we're dealing with a box that boasts genuinely remarkable finishing.
As for how it performs, there's nothing to report: the Axon 2.0 chipset lets you navigate intuitively through its many menus without any hassle. Users will be able to choose from a range of vaping modes, including Bypass, Variable Voltage and Pulse mode, among others. The only thing missing is Temperature Control, but otherwise, electronics enthusiasts will be thoroughly satisfied.

Each mode comes with a preset screen colour that can't be changed. For example, F(t) mode, which gradually adjusts the coil temperature as you vape, is shown in yellow.

Pulse mode has been given red…

… while Variable Wattage mode is blue.

Red is perhaps slightly less easy to read, but every screen remains perfectly legible, even in bright light.

Vaping on the Target 200 Kit

When it comes to vaping, this Target 200 kit holds up pretty well! Whether you're running the 0.40 ohm or 0.20 ohm coil, you can expect big, hugely flavourful vapour. I have to say, even on my first few puffs, I was genuinely surprised by just how intense the flavours were: it's really, really tasty! It packs a real punch, as they say…

In F(t) mode, the Target 200 box is a real fighter jet: the moment you press the switch, it delivers instantly. Zero lag time, so don't be caught napping! The output from the iTank is colossal, with flavours pumped up on steroids. No rebuildable has ever given me this kind of vaping sensation. Of course, while the flavour rendering is fairly faithful, don't expect anything particularly subtle: the iTank isn't here for delicate, refined vaping. But while the vape is bold and direct, with an impressively large volume of vapour, it's never overwhelming: the vapour produced by the iTank isn't dense at all.

In fact, it has a particularly light, cloud-like texture, which contrasts with the intensity of flavour mentioned earlier. It's pretty hard to put into words – you really need to try it yourself to understand!
