With strong success of the Pico, Eleaf does not stop here and proposes (a first) declination of the concept Pico. An audacious declination with a radical changed look for the box and the possibility to incorporate a 26650 battery! Devil. Test the Kit Pico Mega – See below.

The Kit Pico Mega is in association with the Melo 3 Clearomiser (accompanied with 3 Sub Ohm coils), the box Pico Mega is in hybrid format with the possible choice of using a 18650 or 26650 battery. A windfall for fans of the Pico and for all others who are in search of autonomy for their set up. In juice and in battery. In effect, the Melo 3 here is supplied in a 4ml version. It is not the Melo 3 Mini of the first kit. And for the Pico box, adding a 26650 battery is the possibility to have a huge quantity in mAh in function of the battery used (5200 mAh for a Keepower, for example).

The Melo 3 Clearomiser has value for sure, like all the other series of the Melo. The Melo 3 presents itself with a very discreet airflow. This clearo can be taken anywhere, the risk of drenching your pockets are quite rare. Another bonus of the Melo 3, is the compatibility with a number of coils on the market. The coils Atlantis, and Triton Aspire, the coils Target by Vaporesso for example. A very good choice.
The Notchcoil Eleaf is very long!
The bonus of the kit, is the addition of the coils 0.50Ω and 0.30Ω, the coil Notchcoil EC by Eleaf in 0.25Ω. I say bonus, it’s because it does not give out too much gas in the branches like most of the pre-mounted Notch Coils. This EC coil includes the watt mode in CT (SS position) as well as the TCR mode (with a setting between 80 and 200) Usually, the pre-mounted Notch Coil strongly heats up and too fast for those poor clearomisers, with the vape being too hot. Even bubbling! Here we find an acceptable vape. The Melo 3, is just good.
Pico and Pico Mega
With the coils being low, you need power. The Pico Mega passes to 80 watts in consequence. And to vape for a good moment in serenity. Eleaf have added a place for the 26650 battery. They could have chosen a classic formula for the double 18650, but no! For a question of aesthetics or weight, just so you know Eleaf have gone for the 26650, also with enlargement of the posterior to go with it. This is not unique, The Flawless, the HCigar VT75 and the Pipeline Pro Nine, are all in the same nature.
An important point, the power of the box changes the function of the of the battery used. 80 watts with a 26650 battery, and 75 watts with the 18650 battery. The choice of a 26650 battery with less than 35A with continued discharge current is advisable. Small tip, while the box is off, press simultaneously on the start switch and the on the minus (-), this gives you the level of battery charge.
The switch
For the ergonomics to be complete, a large start switch is added which makes it more agreeable. The problem is the noise which is quite cheap. We know the this of Istick as we do not appreciate it as much. The Switch of the Eleaf Ipower are the same in comparison, Such a shame.
Like on the Pico, we find the settings switch under the box. A tip for respecting the size of the box and having a slightly larger screen. This position of the switch, we find not very easy to use and often return over the set up to check where we put our fingers. This is the price to pay for wanting a beautiful screen.
A 25mm/15mm screen which offers a customisable logo to be in order with mode of the moment. You can find the customisation software on the Eleaf page right here. Over this the aspect of the geek gadget, this customisation can be signed as future evolutions for the box Pico Mega. The version V1.01, already on line, passes the box to 100 watts with the 26650 batteries.; Bizarrely, with the 18650 battery as well.

While we are on topic, how does It pass from one battery to another, which is not a 26650 battery? By sliding the adapter in the lodgings of the battery. That’s all. The adapter is a tube in plastic and does not cause any difficulties in particular when installing, however with certain batteries, the top cap does not completely close. What a shame! The work of the Efest Green does not, itself have any problems with size.
For the functions of the box Pico Mega, we stay with the classic and with: Wattage, Bypass, temperature Control in Ni, Ti and SS. The TCR is the part with 3 memories: The smart mode which seems to make life easier. No explication in the notice, starts well!! The Smart mode has nothing to with the temperature control, it functions with coils in Kanthal, Nichrome, and SS316, like the wattage and in Bypass in sum.
Globally, we find all the classics and the usual Istick boxes. The architecture of the firmware is identical to the previous models and simple intuitive piloting: 3 clicks on the switch choosing the vape mode. 4 clicks, on the setting watts switch with the Temperature Mode, 5 clicks on the on/off box. Nothing well complex and the notice is clear (and in French).
The kit is not especially heavy, 215grms all inclusive. The side of the box is the thickest 32mm large and is not very excessive. The Fire switch helps the utilisation. The index finds intuitive. Brief, the Pico Mega is comfortable. The major inconvenience of the box is the cap which appears in the lodgings of the box. The cap is part of the look which but in a mega version, i find this unsightly. This is the same problem as the 1st model, the atomisers and drippers which is 22mm in diameter is excluded for lack of space from the top of the box.
22 mm, ni plus, ni moins !
To resume, for less than 60€ we have a Kit Istick Pico Mega which is not ashamed of the price. The kit leans towards the sub ohm with coils in 0.25 to 0.50 Ω, but the consequent choice is the Melo 3 in coils, for all types of vape which is very practical with the kit. The interest of the kit finds equally the large autonomy, juice and energy which is convenient for vapers who do not like to be dry within a couple of hours. A good investment.
