Here's the review that fans of semi-electronic box mods have been eagerly waiting for: the new version of the Dovpo, the Dovpo MVV 2. Dovpo certainly knows how to make beautiful kit, and this unique, compact, good-looking and powerful MVV2 box is the proof!

An embossed finish!
The materials used on this new Dovpo are genuinely innovative, with a really lovely result.

The M VV II fitted with a Zeus
A Striking Design
The Dovpo MV2 box comes in 3 stunning versions, each featuring embossed, raised engravings that are just as nice to look at as they are to touch.
You'll need to be on board with the concept here, as it certainly won't leave you indifferent: a skull surrounded by roses, a devil with a snake in its mouth, and finally another devil in black and white with bloodshot eyes and red lips… This MV2 box really doesn't hold back!

No Screen, But Plenty of Control
As for the interface, well, there really isn't one! No screen to be seen, just a dial for adjusting intensity from 1 to 5. So this isn't, strictly speaking, an electronic box, but rather a semi-regulated device that still comes with a few safety features built in: protection against under-voltage, overheating and prolonged firing.

A closer look at the dial!
A Closer Look at the Dial
Let's talk about this famous dial, which might seem a little daunting at first, but is actually wonderfully simple to use. The idea is to start at I and turn the dial until you reach the vape you're after.
The closer your coil's resistance is to 0, the further you can push the dial towards V. You hardly need to be a rocket scientist to grasp the principle, but if you'd like some guidance, here's the chart below, taken straight from Dovpo's own instructions.

As for this dial, one last thing: I do find the placement choice a bit odd. Why put the starting point at the top instead of, logically, at the bottom? As a result, you end up starting at I in the top right, a bit like a clock that only goes up to 5…

Charging and Discharging
One thing missing on the original Dovpo MV was a battery charge indicator, and that's finally been sorted with the Dovpo MV2, which lights up from green to red once both batteries need recharging. Well done, Dovpo!

USB Type-C tucked INSIDE the M VV II's body!
Finally, the USB-C port, oddly located beneath the cover, also allows for charging. You might wonder why it's been placed inside rather than outside, on the side, as with most other boxes.
My colleague and I both reckon it's there to discourage you from vaping while your batteries are charging. Given that it's already best practice to charge your batteries using a dedicated charger, vaping at the same time as charging would only make things worse… It's best to avoid putting too much strain on your batteries, to keep them in good condition for as long as possible.

Ergonomic and Powerful
To top it all off, the MV2 box is ergonomic and fairly lightweight. Its switch is short, with a sharp little click when pressed, giving it a real sense of quality.
It'll happily take small atomisers such as the Wasp Nano, for example, or larger ones like the Zeus X, with which it'll really show off its full power thanks to its new AS 2.0 chipset.
