Surprise! The Aegis Legend from Geekvape is back with this version 5! Surprising, isn't it? Don't bother looking for it; the Aegis Legend 4 doesn't exist. The explanation lies in Chinese culture. Indeed, the number 4 is considered a bad omen, as it is pronounced the same way as the word “death”. Custom therefore dictates the name of this dual-18650 battery mod, and we skip straight to number 5.

But name aside, what’s new? First of all, the highly sensitive touch grip and the automatic lock are gone. We are back to a physical toggle switch on the side of the mod that disables all three buttons. Classic.

The finishes have also changed, featuring new touches in the use of polyurethane—a flexible and durable material that allows for plenty of variations in both texture and colours. And it comes with “Legend 5” printed in silver across the back of the mod.

The AL 5 is keeping up with the times, sporting a subtly animated screen. Meanwhile, the sides of the display light up in all sorts of colours! A Light menu is included in the chipset, offering 4 different dynamic patterns for the RGB LEDs.

Chipset-wise, there are five vaping modes available. Everything from temperature control to Smart mode, as well as Normal (with Smart tracking) and Custom (without Smart tracking). In short, it’s fully featured. The surprise comes with the choice of clearomiser, which is none other than the Z(eus) Sub-Ohm Tank 2021. No, no Z FLi here. No major changes for the coils either, which remain the Z Series 0.15 Ω and 0.4 Ω.

Finally, it’s worth noting that the release date for this e-cigarette is still unknown, and the kit's contents may change between now and then.
