Vaping is a transition to a life without tobacco and then without addiction.

AIO = All-In-One: vapers hold the most compact e-cigarette possible in their hand, one that brings together the clearomiser, battery and chipset in a single housing. Only the drip-tip sticks out. The most famous example of this concept is the Billet Box, which has been copied or reworked time and again. Dotmod's DotAIO is one such example.

An AIO box can also be used as a so-called "rebuildable" atomiser, complete with a build deck. A box can indeed be turned into rebuildable kit thanks to its rather special atomiser, the Boro Tank. Invented by Billet Box Vapor, this tank has, in turn, inspired so many manufacturers that it's become a standard, the R4. With this standard, plenty of Boro Tanks can be fitted into any AIO box.
Pimped-out Billet Box models
This compatibility allows for all sorts of excess: Suicide Mods, for example, makes the Stubby, whose Boro contains two steel cables and an RDTA build deck (the deck sits at the top of the atomiser).

A good example of what these AIOs are capable of comes from Lost Vape and its Centaurus AIO range. There's the AIO B80 model, which features a rebuildable Boro. And the AIO B60 model for those who swear by compatible coils and aren't into rebuilding. It's not unusual to find "RBA" coils for an AIO that normally runs on standard factory coils. This RBA coil has a small build deck for a single coil. This versatility means you can switch from one type of vaping (factory coil) to the other (DIY coil) whenever you fancy.

But AIO kit also appeals for the sheer number of ways you can customise and pimp out the box with various spare parts. Many modders – makers of high-end vaping gear – produce parts for the Billet Box (which has, after all, been around since 2011), for instance. With an AIO, pretty much everything is interchangeable.

Removable panels, build decks, build deck chimneys, and a switch that allows for plenty of variation. Fancy an engraved metal switch for upwards of €30? It's entirely possible! In short, the AIO box has become a real passion for some die-hard fans. Over time, the models have evolved. Gone are the 18350 batteries and 1.0Ω coils – make way for sub-ohm and 21700 batteries!

The Shift Boro from Vaperz Cloud
The Stubby AIO from Suicide Mods offers all of this with a whopping 8.5ml capacity. The challenge is staying compact, and ideally elegant too, which isn't always easy. With a screen, a full chipset and adjustment buttons, the AIO box now offers vapers all the comfort they could want. It's the motorhome of vaping.

That said, the AIO box concept does have its little drawbacks. Build decks, for example, demand a lot of care and precision, as the parts are often tiny. Or you might have to unscrew the drip-tip mount to remove the Boro tank. Die-hard fans couldn't care less about these minor inconveniences – they're hooked.
AIO boxes with factory coils are, of course, accessible to a much wider audience. Vaping has also become more energetic with this new generation of AIOs, and pretty much anything seems possible.
